Best of 2014: May

I like Coldplay occasionally and Avicii (who produced this track) sometimes, but this track deserved to get all the airplay it did. Very euphoric.

Best of 2014: April

The blues, country, pop, and rock melding follow up to Counting Stars - nearly as good.

More sparse hip-hop beats from Lorde, but just as arresting as Royals.

Best of 2014: March

Massive beats, massive synths, massive club stomper.

Heaven knows why this huge summer jam got released in March.

Nancy Whang again. It's funk but cooled to minus 20.

Slightly Disney, but nowhere near as annoying as Let It Go.

Hurts: Live @ EXIT Festival 2014

Best of 2014: February

Nancy Whang's cold and detached vocals make this song perfect for a 1am slot on the dancefloor.

It seems cliché now, but at the time the stripped back styling felt novel.

Best of 2014: January

A little over-played perhaps, but it's still a good song.

That early 80s feel, thanks in no small part to legendary disco producer Nile Rodgers.

Two parts indie to one part club, seems like a winning formula.

Up there with their best, this song boasts a nice bassline and a catchy tune.
